About Jacob Crandall · Release engineer · Salesforce administrator / developer · Software builder

I own releases, build software, and make complicated systems easier to run.

I manage Salesforce CI/CD and production deployments at International Justice Mission. Through Shift Key Software, I design websites and build native apps for Mac and iPhone.

What I do

I manage the path from approved change to verified production release.

That includes release calendars, pull requests, test runs, dependency checks, sandbox work, deployment, and follow-up when something breaks. I use the same discipline when I ship websites and Apple apps.

Release engineering & CI/CD

I run IJM’s biweekly Salesforce releases across multiple teams. I coordinate readiness, review dependencies, validate deployments, prepare rollback plans, and check production after each release.

  • Gearset CI/CD
  • Bitbucket pull requests
  • Salesforce CLI/SFDX
  • Production validation

Salesforce administration & development

I build and support Salesforce with Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Agentforce. I also handle data migrations, SAML SSO, access issues, and the release work needed to ship each change safely.

  • Flow and Agentforce
  • Apex and LWC
  • SAML SSO
  • Data migration

Web design & development

I design and build responsive websites for small businesses and focused product launches. I handle the page plan, visual design, development, accessibility checks, deployment, and handoff.

  • Responsive design
  • Front-end development
  • Accessibility
  • Cloudflare and Vercel

Native Apple apps

I build Swift and SwiftUI products for Mac and iPhone. App Monitor, Orbit, and Grocerly each started as a practical problem and now have working interfaces, tests, and release workflows.

  • Swift
  • SwiftUI
  • macOS
  • iOS

Experience

A career built around dependable systems and releases.

I learn how the system works, plan the change, help people through it, and check the result after it ships.
